1999 Outstanding Senior Award
This award is sponsored by the Ag Alumni Society with the Coaly Agricultural Student Honor Society's involvement in the recruitment and selection process. Selection for this prestigious award is based on nominees' academic achievement, their leadership in college clubs and organizations, an application essay, a personal interview with the selection committee, and an evaluation of their contributions to the University and community.
Chris Connelly
The recipient of the 1999 Outstanding Senior Award was Chris Connelly. Chris graduated with a degree in dairy and animal science. An excellent student, Chris held many leadership positions in student clubs and organizations. As a member of the Penn State Dairy Science Club, Chris served as chair of the Nittany Lion Fall Classic. He also was active as a member of the Penn State Dairy Judging Team and a member and past president of the Alpha Zeta fraternity.
Chris's honors include the 1998 National Distinguished Junior Member of Holstein USA, Inc., the 1998 Distinguished Junior Member of the Pennsylvania Holstein Association, and he is a member of the Gamma Delta Sigma honorary fraternity and the Coaly Agricultural Honor Society.
Chris is the son of Ronald and Denise Connelly of Pennsylvania Furnace, and he now attends the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary
Medicine.
